“ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ජනවාර්ගික ගැටළුව පිළිබඳ අධ්‍යයනයකි” යන උප මාතෘකාව සහිත දෙමළ අභියෝගය, දෙමළ ප්‍රශ්නය පිළිබඳ වික්ටර් අයිවන් ලියූ මුල්ම පොතයි. එය 1989 දී රාවය ප්‍රකාශකයෝ විසින් පළ කරන ලද අතර, රත්මලානේ සර්වෝදය විශ්ව ලේඛා විසින් මුද්‍රණය කෙරිණි.
කතුවරයාට අනුව එහි පළමු මුද්‍රණය ඉක්මනින් අලෙවි වූ අතර, සමහර විශ්වවිද්‍යාල උපාධි පාඨමාලා සඳහා කියවිය යුතු පොතක් ලෙස එය නිර්දේශ කර තිබිණි. වසර 23 කට පසු 2012 දී එම නමින්ම පළ කළ “දෙමළ අභියෝගය (ප්‍රභාකරන්ගේ අවසානයට පෙර හා පසු)” පැරණි පොතේ සංස්කරණයක් නොව අලුත් පොතක් බව කතුවරයා එහි පෙරවදනේ සඳහන් කරයි.
දෙමළ අභියෝගය, subtitled “a study of Sri Lanka’s ethnic problem”, was Victor Ivan’s first book on the Tamil question. It was published in 1989 by Ravaya Prakashakayo and printed by Sarvodaya Vishva Lekha in Ratmalana. Its cover carries a photograph of Velupillai Prabhakaran.
According to the author, the first printing sold out quickly, and the book was recommended reading for some university degree courses. He never reprinted it, because he wanted to revise it first. Twenty-three years later, in 2012, he published a new book under the same title, දෙමළ අභියෝගය (ප්‍රභාකරන්ගේ අවසානයට පෙර හා පසු), which he describes as a new work rather than a revised edition of this one.
